The most ideal conditions for windsurfers are in January and February, although also the rest of the year is also fine. Divers have the best underwater visibility from June to December. The islands with mountains are the most enticing for hikers during and just after the period July to December. If you want to experience the nesting turtles? The season runs from June till October. The turtles are born in mid-August to November and leave then towards the sea. The best opportunities to spot whales are at Boavista in March and April. Another major festival in May is the Gamboa music festival in Santiago. Year round there are also some smaller festivals you can visit. Cape Verde is not expensive. Hi
My partner and I in our 30s and are thinking of visiting at the end of september/beginning of October but my only concern is that there isn’t anything in the way of nightlife. Can you advise please? Thank you
CapeVerdeIslands.org says
Hi Lydia,
What kind of nightlife are you looking for? And which island(s) are you considering to visit? This is crucial, as the islands are very divers.

Hi! We are planning to visit Cape Verde-Sal on our honeymoon in September, probably for two weeks 9/14/19 — 9/28/19. We are actually worried about the rain – I’ve read that September is the wettest month there, so does it rain a lot on these days? Or only the slight drops?
Thank you!!
CapeVerdeIslands.org says
Hello Arune,
September is one of the hottest months of the year. The tropical climate ensures that rain falls in September. In this month you can expect the most rain, especially in the beginning of the month. However, the amount can not be compared (it is less) with countries in for example West Europe (UK). If rain falls, these are often strong showers. The rain clouds often do not cover the entire country, so there is enough opportunity to enjoy the sun.

Hello Dean,
If I understand you correctly, you want to visit Boavista or Sal (Santa Maria)? What are you looking for?
Early November you can expect a constant maximmum temperature around 29 degrees Celsius and (almost) no rain. Thus, a great month to visit the islands.
